Since 1985, WesternLawns has been improving the environment through quality landscape services at homes all across Oklahoma. Using the very best horticultural standards, our goal is to take care of everything at your home and in your outdoor living space.
WesternLawns Landscape Management Program:
Lawn Maintenance –Before spring green up, the lawn will be cut short to remove the leaf blades that have been dormant over the winter, debris that has accumulated over the winter will be removed, and turf will be prepared for a new growing season. Once the turf greens up and starts to grow, the lawn will be maintained as needed during the spring, increasing to weekly visits during the summer, and returns to an as needed basis during the fall. During November and December, leaves will be removed from areas as needed to maintain a neat appearance as the season changes.
With each visit, the turf will be cut at the appropriate height for the season, noticeable clippings removed, hardscape areas edged, trimming around beds, and debris removed.
Shrub and Bed Maintenance – During the growing season, all shrubs will be pruned and trimmed per horticultural standards and beds will be weeded and cultivated where appropriate, and debris removed.
Lawn Care Applications Program – Seven (7) purposeful applications of pre-emergent and post-emergent weed control along with the proper fertilization for the seasonal conditions and types of turf grass.
Tree and Shrub Care – All shrubs and trees will receive regular applications of insecticides, fungicides, and pesticides to prevent and control unwanted insects, disease, and pests. Dormant oils will be applied during the winter when appropriate. All shrubs will be fertilized as needed throughout the and trees will be fertilized in the fall. Program includes seven (7) applications.
Landscape Management Enhancement Services:
Aeration - During the early growing season, the turf will be core aerated to improve moisture, nutrients, and air movement to the root zone. This practice also reduces soil compaction and thatch.
Flea and Tick Control – Turf areas will be treated five (5) times per year with an appropriate insecticide to prevent and control common fleas, ticks, and other pests.
Irrigation System Check – Monthly, from March to November, the irrigation system will be checked to ensure proper watering times for the season and proper system maintenance.
Mole/Gopher Control – As needed with each Lawn Care Application visit, WesternLawns will inspect and treat any active rodent.
Mulch - Twice per year, additional mulch will be added to all landscape plantings in order to improve landscape appearance, protect plant roots from extreme temperatures, retain moisture in the soil and prevent weeds from germinating.
Overseeding – During September, the turf areas will be seeded with Fescue or Rue to improve turf areas in shady areas or to provide a green lawn year round.
Tree Trim - During dormancy, trees will be trimmed away from structures, walks, and to insure proper growth and branching.
Seasonal Color – Twice per year, bedding plants will be installed for the appropriate burst of annual color.
Winter Trash & Bed Maintenance - Weekly, throughout the winter, all beds will be weeded, cultivated, and all debris and trash removed.
